Epidemiological findings show that lifestyle factors such as contraceptive use and pregnancy, a progesterone dominant state, decrease the risk of getting OC. How ovarian hormones modify the risk of OC is currently unclear. Our study identifies activated Wnt signalling to be a marker for precursor lesions of OC and successfully develops a mouse model that mimics the earliest events in pathogenesis of OC by constitutively activating ßcatenin. Using this model and human OC cells, we show that oestrogen promotes and progesterone suppresses the growth of OC cells.]]> Wed 09 Feb 2022 15:54:46 AEDT ]]> Amphibian declines in the twenty-first century: why we need assisted reproductive technologies https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:17628 Thu 18 Jun 2015 09:53:25 AEST ]]> Menopausal Hormone Therapy use and breast cancer risk by receptor subtypes: results from the New South Wales Cancer Lifestyle and EvaluAtion of Risk (CLEAR) study https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:33626 Thu 03 Feb 2022 12:22:13 AEDT ]]> Body composition and gender differences in performance https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:13392 Sat 24 Mar 2018 08:15:50 AEDT ]]> A model of children's growth and adaptation to nutritional stress https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:29339 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:34:19 AEDT ]]> Root-to-shoot signalling: integration of diverse molecules, pathways and functions https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:24495 2+ and ROS waves), chemical (assimilates, hormones, peptides and nutrients), and molecular (proteins and RNA) signals. Further, different signalling systems operate at very different timescales. It remains unclear whether some of these signalling systems operate in a priming mode(s), whereas others deliver more specific information about the nature of the signal, or whether they carry the same 'weight'. This review summarises the current knowledge of the above signalling mechanisms, and reveals their hierarchy, and highlights the importance of integration of these signalling components, to enable optimal plant functioning in a dynamic environment.]]> Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:13:15 AEDT ]]> Refrigerated storage and cryopreservation of hormonally induced sperm in the threatened frog, Litoria aurea https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:54771 50%) when preserved with 15% v/v DMSO and 1% w/v sucrose; and (3) spermic urine stored at 5 ◦C retained motility for up to 14 days. Our findings demonstrate that the protocols developed in this study allowed for successful induction and recovery of high-quality spermatozoa from a threatened Australian anuran, L. aurea, providing a prime example of how ARTs can contribute to the conservation of rare and threatened species.]]> Mon 11 Mar 2024 15:07:50 AEDT ]]> Prenatal polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) exposure in relation to placental corticotropin releasing hormone (pCRH) in the CANDLE pregnancy cohort https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:49847 Mon 05 Jun 2023 15:51:30 AEST ]]> Pulmonary group 2 innate lymphoid cells: surprises and challenges https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:47645 Mon 01 May 2023 15:34:21 AEST ]]> Proximate and ultimate mechanisms of human father-child rough-and-tumble play https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:50753 Fri 04 Aug 2023 11:28:22 AEST ]]>
